Introduction

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had extra time on my hands. So, I decided to learn about User Experience (UX) design. Using what I learned, I created FlixMovies. It's a website where people can find and explore different movies. I used a tool called Angular to build the website. This case study tells the story of how I learned UX design and built FlixMovies.

What I Wanted:

I wanted a website where I could:

Explore Movies: Easily browse through a collection of movies, both old and new.

Keep Track: Save my favorite movies and keep track of ones I want to watch.

Share Recommendations: Share my movie recommendations with friends and family.

Simple and Safe: Ensure the website is easy to use and keeps my data safe.

How I Made It:

Planning: I outlined what features I wanted and how I wanted the website to look.

Design: I created simple designs to visualize the layout and structure of the website.

Building the Website: Using online tutorials and resources, I built the website using beginner-friendly tools and techniques.

Adding Movies: I manually added movies to my collection, including details like title, genre, and release year.

Testing: I tested the website myself to ensure everything worked as expected and was easy to use.

Launching: I made the website live for personal use, ensuring it was safe and accessible only to me.

Results:

Personalized Experience: The website provided me with a personalized experience, allowing me to curate my movie collection according to my preferences.

Convenience: I found it convenient to have all my favorite movies in one place and could easily share recommendations with friends.
